The Mommy Club reality TV star Nozipho Ntshangase’s marriage to engineer Zola Ntshangase has been a hot topic among South Africans.
A leaked video showing a family dispute between Zola, Nozipho, their eight children, and their nanny has fueled the controversy.
The uproar began when it was revealed that Zola has started lobola negotiations for a second wife, which Nozipho allegedly opposes.
Nozipho shared that after 17 years together and raising their eight kids, Zola has suddenly changed their plans by seeking another wife.
Zola Confirms Second Wife Plans
Zola did not deny the polygamy allegations and confirmed he is in the process of paying lobola for his second bride.
“I wish to confirm the rumors circulating on social media as true,” Zola stated. “The Ntshangase family, in accordance with our tradition and culture, has initiated lobola negotiations with the Mzizi family, and the process is nearing completion,” he said.
He also addressed the backlash directed at his soon-to-be wife, Ms. Misokuhle, calling it unfair and warning against gender-based violence.
Zola requested an end to social media bullying and reiterated his support for his first wife.
Zola Stands Firm Despite Backlash
An insider close to Nozipho told ZiMoja that despite the backlash and Nozipho’s objections, Zola is determined to proceed with his plans.
“He is going ahead as planned,” the source said. “He is at the finish line, despite Nozipho proving that she has raised eight children on her own and does not need assistance.
But Zola is being stubborn.” The source also revealed that the new bride is unfazed by the controversy and has attempted mediation with Nozipho, who refused.
Nozipho’s Emotional Struggle
Nozipho is still working through her emotions. “Thank you to everyone for reaching out. There is still a lot that I am dealing with,” she said.
She is currently laying low but plans to return. “I appreciate everyone for sending love and prayers to my kids and my family,” she added.
“I am alive, my kids are okay. It has not been easy.” When the news broke, Nozipho and Zola had just bought a new home and were working on it, hoping to complete the project by Christmas 2024.
