If you’re dating someone in one of these 10 professions, you might want to stay on your toes.
According to a survey by Victoria Milan, a dating website for married people looking to have an affair, certain jobs seem to come with a higher risk of infidelity. They surveyed 5,658 of their female members to find out which professions are more prone to cheating.
Here are the results:
1. Financial Sector (21%)
Bankers, brokers, analysts, and other finance professionals top the list. The high-stress, high-stakes nature of their work might drive some to seek excitement elsewhere.
2. Aviation (19%)
Pilots, flight attendants, and flight pursers are second on the list. The constant travel and long periods away from home can create opportunities for infidelity.
3. Healthcare (15%)
Doctors, nurses, and nursing assistants are also among the top cheaters. The long hours and intense work environment might push some to look for relief in risky relationships.
4. Business (12%)
CEOs, managers, and secretaries often mix business with pleasure. The power dynamics and close working relationships can lead to affairs.
5. Sports (11%)
Athletes, instructors, and sports representatives have a high chance of cheating. The fame, travel, and adoration they receive can lead to temptations.
6. Arts (7%)
Musicians, models, actors, and photographers are also prone to infidelity. The creative environment and often unconventional lifestyle can lead to affairs.
7. Nightlife Industry (6%)
DJs, dancers, and waiters are next. The nightlife scene is filled with opportunities to meet new people and engage in risky behavior.
8. Communication (5%)
Journalists, public relations professionals, and communicators have a risk of cheating. The dynamic nature of their job and constant interaction with new people can lead to affairs.
9. Legal Sector (4%)
Lawyers, secretaries, prosecutors, and judges also make the list. The demanding nature of their jobs and the high-stress environment can push some towards infidelity.
10. Other Sectors (2%)
Other professions also have a smaller but significant chance of cheating. The variety of job types in this category makes it hard to pinpoint specific reasons.
Why Do People Cheat at Work?
According to the CEO of Victoria Milan, many people are willing to risk their careers for the thrill of an affair.
The survey showed that while mixing work with pleasure might be risky, it also makes life more enjoyable for many. However, the fear of being found out and the potential discomfort of mixing professional and personal lives keeps some cheaters from engaging in workplace affairs.
