Pop singer and Amapiano sensation Rethabile Khumalo is recovering after allegedly being po!soned. The “Umjolo” hitmaker went live on Instagram to update her fans on her condition.
On June 28, Rethabile’s mother, musician Winnie Khumalo, revealed on Instagram that her daughter was fighting for her life after being po!soned by a so-called friend.
Winnie’s post also mentioned that Rethabile’s seven-month-old son, Culo, was hospitalized after ingesting po!son while breastfeeding.
Rethabile spent several days in the hospital, undergoing multiple surgeries. Although she was initially discharged, she was readmitted a week ago due to deteriorating health.
During a live chat, Rethabile, still in a hospital bed, thanked fans for their prayers and expressed her eagerness to promote her music.
When asked if they had opened a criminal case against the friend who allegedly po!soned Rethabile, Winnie said they had not, as they were focused on her recovery.
Winnie emphasized that this experience has made Rethabile realize who her true friends are.
The Khumalos expressed gratitude to those who have supported Rethabile, including DJ Ganyani, DJ Fresh, Ebony Ngcobo, and others.
They also shared the exciting news that Rethabile’s song “Ntyilo Ntyilo” featuring Master KG has reached platinum status, and her new songs “Egalile” and “Islonda” are doing well on streaming platforms.
