Sello Machitje, a deputy director at the Department of Water and Sanitation, has been found dead under tragic circumstances.
Reported missing last Monday, Machitje is believed to have been hijacked while traveling between Gauteng and the Eastern Cape.
Discovery and Arrest
Authorities traced Machitje’s bakkie to Alexandra, a township north of Johannesburg.

Following this lead, a 53-year-old suspect was arrested in connection with the vehicle.
However, Gauteng police spokesperson Noxolo Kweza stated that the suspect has not yet been linked to Machitje’s murder, and investigations are ongoing.
