Kwaito singer Sipho ‘Brickz’ Ndlovu has recently achieved a remarkable milestone despite being behind bars.
The Kwaito star has captured the public’s attention with his recent graduation from Boston City Campus while serving his 15-year sentence.
Brickz, who is studying marketing and management, celebrated his graduation on July 24, donning a cap and gown even within the confines of Leeuwkop maximum facility.
His graduation photos and videos have gone viral on X, formerly known as Twitter, showcasing his academic accomplishment.
There are rumors that Brickz plans to further his education in political science. A family member shared that Brickz feels the adversity he’s faced has been transformative.
The South African Correctional Service’s educational programs have provided inmates with the chance to gain new skills and knowledge, helping many reintegrate successfully into society.
Educational engagement in prison has been linked to a lower likelihood of re-offending, underscoring the importance of these programs. Despite his convictions for raping a 17-year-old relative in 2013, those close to Brickz, including his friends and family, believe he has grown and changed.
