Former President Jacob Zuma’s daughter, Gugu Zuma-Ncube, a well-known TV executive producer of top shows like Uzalo, will be sharing her expertise on the dynamic world of film and TV.
Gugu, an executive at Stained Glass TV alongside Pepsi Pokane, will participate in this year’s Durban Film Mart (DFM) and Durban International Film Festival (DIFF) from July 18 to July 28 in Durban.
The duo will host two sessions under the festival theme “Meet the Makers,” engaging with other industry leaders to discuss the latest trends, challenges, and opportunities in the film and television sectors.
Their contributions as keynote speakers have led Stained Glass TV to be selected to provide a tour for the French Institute of South Africa, supported by the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs.
The DFM 2024 program features diverse voices from various backgrounds and identities, emphasizing the importance of inclusive storytelling in today’s global media landscape.
“We are thrilled to be part of such a significant event in the film and TV industry. It is an incredible opportunity to exchange ideas with global industry leaders and to demonstrate the remarkable achievements of South African production to an international audience,” said Gugu.
Pepsi Pokane commented on the honor of being the only South African production company selected to host the French delegation. “We look forward to showcasing the vibrant and diverse storytelling that Stained Glass is known for,” he said.
Stained Glass has produced many top shows, including Uzalo, Ifalakhe, Durban Gen, Lingashoni, The Wife, and many more.
