Popular South African actress Nompilo Maphumulo has been left stunned and angry after false reports of her death circulated, claiming she was shot by gunmen in Joburg.

Nompilo, known for her roles on “Uzalo” and “Generations: The Legacy,” was shocked to learn about these rumors from concerned friends and family.

She expressed her disbelief, stating, “I was shocked and even pinched myself to prove that I wasn’t a ghost. How can someone go so far as to claim that a person is dead while they are alive? And the worst part, the news said that I was ambushed by gunmen. That’s insane, and I’m angry over this.”

She emphasized that she has no enemies and doesn’t know any gunmen, making the rumors even more bewildering.

“Why would I be killed by izinkabi? Do I have enemies? No, I don’t. I don’t know even one gunman. So why would someone report such fabricated news? This has traumatized my family. I had to explain to them and tried to calm them down. This has caused enough damage.”

Nompilo urged people to verify news before believing it, highlighting the distress misinformation can cause to individuals and their families.
