In a shocking incident that has left the community in Ivory Park Extension 7, Ekurhuleni reeling, three family members were shot dead in their home on Sunday night, 21 July.
The victims included two men, aged 36 and 17, and a 28-year-old woman.
The Incident
The horrific event unfolded when an assailant forcibly entered the room where the family had gathered by kicking down the door.
Without hesitation, the intruder opened fire, brutally killing all three victims.
Neighbours, alarmed by the sound of gunshots, quickly notified the police.
Emergency Response
Upon arrival, emergency services found the victims with multiple gunshot wounds.
The 36-year-old man sustained severe injuries to his torso, while the other male and the female suffered upper body wounds.
Despite the prompt response, paramedics were unable to save the victims, who were all pronounced dead at the scene.
Ongoing Investigation
The police are actively investigating the matter and are searching for the suspect.
Ekurhuleni district police spokeswoman Captain Neldah Sekgobela made an urgent appeal to the public: “We urge anyone with information regarding the incident or the suspects to come forward. A case of multiple murders has been opened.”
