Chidimma Adetshina has stepped down from the Miss South Africa pageant following intense legal pressure from the Patriotic Alliance.
The legal action aimed to prevent Adetshina from participating after the Department of Home Affairs uncovered evidence suggesting that her mother, originally from Mozambique, may have committed fraud and identity theft to secure South African citizenship.
The Department of Home Affairs is currently wrapping up its investigation and is considering further legal action.
