The Miss South Africa 2024 pageant was not just about beauty, but also a showcase of stunning fashion. Bonang Matheba, as always, stole the spotlight, dazzling in gowns by top Nigerian designers.
South African designers Gert Johan Coetzee and Malondie crafted the elegant dresses for the Miss SA finalists, but it was Bonang’s looks that had everyone talking.
The beloved TV host wore five different gowns throughout the night, each more breathtaking than the last.
Bonang kicked off the event in a show-stopping gown by Vekee James, an award-winning Nigerian designer. The figure-hugging dress highlighted her statuesque beauty.

Miss South Africa 2024: The Controversy
This year’s Miss South Africa pageant wasn’t without drama. Finalist Chidinma Adetshina, whose citizenship came into question due to her Nigerian heritage, sparked controversy.
Although the Miss South Africa organization initially confirmed her South African citizenship, it was later revealed to be incorrect. The backlash led to a petition against Miss SA Judge Lerato Kganyago, who defended Chidinma.
Ultimately, Chidinma withdrew from the competition and was replaced in the top 10 finalists. Despite the controversy, the pageant remained a night to remember, especially with Bonang’s unforgettable fashion moments.
