Afro-pop singer Lizwi Wokuqala, real name Lizwilenkosi Mtshali, tragically passed away on July 24, 2024, in a car accident.

He was traveling with rapper Malome Vector and videographer Musa Damos Nkodo when their vehicle crashed on the N8 in the Free State.

All three were declared dead at the scene while en route to a performance in Lesotho.

Family representative Stanley Khoza has publicly pleaded for financial assistance to help bury the beloved “Ntombi” and “eLesotho” hitmaker.

Lizwi’s mother, Bawelile Sishi, is unemployed and unable to cover the burial costs.

Khoza shared that a family meeting revealed they lack the funds needed for Lizwi’s funeral.

Lizwi, who was just starting his career and had not yet earned significant money, was the breadwinner for his family.

The family is seeking help from local businesses and the South African government to raise approximately R100,000 to cover the expenses for the coffin, undertaker, sound, and food.

Khoza emphasized the urgency, stating that the family hopes to bury Lizwi on Sunday if they receive enough support.

Donations can be directed to Lizwi’s mother’s bank account. Any contributions to ensure a dignified funeral for the young singer are greatly appreciated.
