Ama Qamata took to social media to express her grief following the passing of veteran actress Connie Chiume, who was like a mother figure to her.
Connie Chiume passed away on Tuesday at a hospital in Johannesburg.
Ama shared a heartfelt post on Instagram, along with a photo that captured their sweet bond. In her tribute, Ama reflected on the profound impact Connie had on her life.
“What a heavy day it’s been. I can’t wrap my head around everything that’s happened in the last 24 hours. How does one say goodbye when they’re not ready to? How do I even put into words the woman that you were, the light you carried, and the love you selflessly poured into all of us?”
Ama reminisced about their time together on the set of Gomora, where she played Connie’s granddaughter. Connie’s care extended beyond their roles, as she often checked in on the cast, celebrated their achievements, offered guidance, and even brought baked goodies to the set.
“I will miss you so much, Mama, and I want to thank you for everything you’ve done. I am so honored to have experienced the magic of the legendary Connie Chiume. I love you and I hope you rest in eternal peace. My sincerest condolences to the Chiume family, thank you for sharing her with us,” Ama wrote.
The heartfelt tribute highlights the deep bond and admiration Ama had for Connie, whose legacy continues to inspire many in the entertainment industry.
